- Flatmate D: Do we need anything from the supermarket that I can grab after work today?
- Me: Dalek robot butler.
- Flatmate D: I will see if they stock those at [supermarket].
- Me: I don't know if that's a robot butler built by daleks, a robot butler built for daleks, or a robot butler that is a dalek. YOU DECIDE.
- Flatmate D: A robot butler built by daleks for daleks that looks like a mini-dalek.
- Me: YES.
- Flatmate D: [Supermarket] would have to import them from the Time War, so there's probably a hefty mark-up. But if it comes down to dinner or robot butler dalek, I vote the latter.
- Me: Seconded. And not that I think she'd vote otherwise, but that makes a majority even without [Flatmate K].
On ironic purchases of Twilight merchandise
- Flatmate K: BF likes the horrible Twilight poster that you got for me of Edward
- Me: Oh dear god, why?
- Flatmate K: Well, actually what he wants is for me to cross out Edward's name and put his instead
